City Lights Radiance Reflecting Cream

Overview: The sun wreaks havoc on our skin, and for some people, it causes unwanted dark spots, blemishes, and freckles. Personally, I have a big problem with freckles on my nose, cheeks, and neck. They are especially noticeable during the summer, when I spend more time outside. I’ve tried a few things in the past that have worked okay, but I haven’t found anything I’m super happy with. I’m planning on going to the beach a lot this summer because I just moved closer to the ocean, so I’m really going to need something to take care of any freckles that might crop up. Every year I get tan lines on my face around my sunglasses and around my hairline and I never know how to deal with them.  City Cosmetics has a new product called City Lights, which is a “radiance perfecting cream” that helps alleviate the appearance of these undesired imperfections by hydrating, healing, and reducing the appearance of melanin production in the skin. So I wanted to give it a try.

The Breakdown: It contains citrus unshiu, alpha arbutin, octadecendioic acid, vitamin E, and ascorbic acid. It aids in the reduction of sunspots, blemishes, and discoloration and is supposed to promote healthier, more radiant skin.

The Nuts and Bolts: You apply City Lights directly to dark spots and freckles and within 2 to 4 weeks you begin to notice significant lightening in the appearance of blemishes. It is recommended to place a pea-sized amount of City Lights onto the fingertips and then massage it into the skin in an upward, circular motion, taking care to lift the skin and not pull it down. I put it on my trouble spots every night before bed and was careful to only apply it to the places that needed it.

The Review: After a couple of weeks of using this on my face and neck and especially the freckles on my nose, it looks like there is a definite difference over what it looked like before. The spots haven’t changed color, but are less noticeable and faded. When I applied the cream I could feel it working with a slight tingling sensation. It took a few weeks but it also helped with the tan lines around my sunglasses and at my hair line. If you have unwanted freckles or dark spots or would just like your skin to be lighter, City Lights is a good product to try.

I tried this on the back of hands with the hope that something could erase or minimize the sun damaged huge frecklish spots. By day 2, I wished I had taken a ‘before’ picture because that’s how fast it started working. At this time, I’ve used it twice a day for about 3 weeks. The spots aren’t totally gone but they are so greatly lightened that if this product does not continue to offer improvement, but stays the same, I will feel very satisfied with that!! I suspect that it will continue to offer improvement, though. This product is worth the $72.00 I paid for it!! In fact, it is worth waaaay more than that!!

I have been using this on my birthmark on my neck that’s always bothered me, but I was really looking for something that didn’t contain hydroquinone and I have really been impressed by this cream. I’ve been using it for about a month and it is defenintly getting lighter so I will keep using it
